MARCH UPDATE

well, here she was again. fighting primates. doing her job. dressed in her Ranger gear, she'd head toward Littleroot and veered into the route. there were reports of two rival gangs of Pokémon attacking each other. the problem with this natural sort of behavior was new trainers were getting caught in the crossfire. so, again, she was tackling an ape problem. Zola was partnered with someone. be it new or not, she was just happy for the assist. her team was growing but not by much.

she needed to get out more.

capture Pokémon. befriend them. the likes.

"hmm" the woman says as she crosses her arms. glancing up and down the route, her partner nor the Pokémon were making themselves known. all was quiet on this war front. that's really when shit hit the fan the most. she prepared herself mentally for the storm coming, all the while she kept her eyes open for someone she may or may not know. it was pretty wild after the Sootopolis invasion. even data and common courtesy was getting fucked around, messed up and not distributed.

"hello, Ana, nice to meet you" she says to the woman who approached, extending a hand at the warm smile "I'm Zola" if the other shook the hand, they would find it a professional slash energetic shake on the Ranger's end. half and half. the silver haired woman looked like a civvie, which... was not really good. Zola would have to watch out for her too. still, the company was better than nothing. "you should take out a Pokemon or two; these primates are really violent - or so I'm told."

taking a sphere from her belt, she reveals her Pikachu. Ion waves a sleepy paw at Ana before drooping over Zola's shoulder. "you still sleeping?" she says to her partner, grinning "don't worry, he'll wake up once he sees action" hopefully. the Ranger begins to walk further down the route, keeping an eye open for any activity. there was the feeling of being watched almost immediately. but she kept calm, kept professional. they were here to do a job.

she extends her hand out as well, accepting the handshake with ease. the energetic handshake isn't surprising; judging from her demeanor, it's all but expected.[break][break]

"likewise, zola. i take it they've already started fighting?"[break][break]

her gaze drifts out towards the route, nodding at zola's suggestion as she takes out a pokeball. she gives the sleepy pikachu a wave as well, smiling up at it.[break][break]

"i don't think he'll need to wait very long for action. here, i have a friend for him who's just as sleepy."[break][break][break]

a piloswine bursts out of the pokeball, still as she materializes in front of them. she's motionless apart from her breathing.[break][break]

"yeah" Zola would confirm, pointing out groves in the earth and scratches on foliage "scaring rookie trainers back to Littleroot. some people even have broken arms" but they were the types to try and stop the fighting, either defending others or being brash. "they're territorial. we'll capture them and relocate them."

somewhere much less dangerous. Ana would bring out her partner, but the added Pokemon presence would have glares shooting at them from the shadows. "careful" Zola slows just as a Mankey swarm jumps from the tree tops "Ion" she calls to her Pikachu, taking him from her shoulder and tossing him upward "Thunderbolt!"

the Pikachu's eyes shot open. his cheeks highlighted with yellow energy before a fierce bolt of lightning cascaded upward, hitting three Mankey.

briefly, she wonders what's making them so aggressive. maybe they're just territorial; it's not uncommon, she supposes. but she's forced to quickly react when the mankeys dart their way.[break][break]

an ICE SHARD forms, erupting to smack away a few mankeys to keep them safe. it seems her piloswine's not sleeping after all.[break][break]

Zola is quick to take out Pokeballs. she tosses them, capturing the Mankey effectively. with the primates safe, and trainers safe, she sighs with relief. there doesn't seem to be a Big Bad here. she half-expects a Primeape.

she doesn't get one.

the results were relocation. it was a fairly easy job. attack the Mankey and capture them. there couldn't be any befriending attempts on such violent Pokemon. as Ana's Pokemon fells a few more, she is relieved at the small pile.

they make quick work of the mankeys, which is good for them, but it's also a little disappointing. she was hoping for a bigger fight. where is the primeape?![break][break]

Zola laughs, shaking her head. "not usually" she is honest "sometimes a big fight, a show-down, sometimes not." she busied herself collecting the Pokeballs. the important thing is that nobody was hurt further.

she was just glad a civilian didn't encounter trouble while helping her. or was injured. or anything else. Zola would not be able to live with herself. of course, she knew something about pride - nothing like it was said.
